Turkish Coal Imports Ease in 2q20

Turkish steam coal (including anthracite) imports fell by 0.9 Mt year-on-year to 6.3 Mt in the 2q20, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (Tuik) show. Flat receipts in June at 2.8 Mt offered some support after imports posted annual falls in April-May. Receipts of Colombian product were down by nearly 1.0 Mt on the year to 3.2 Mt in the 2q20, while those from Russia edged higher to 3.0 Mt (+0.3 Mt).

The country’s coking coal imports inched up by 0.1 Mt to 1.4 Mt in the 2q20, with US product accounting for the majority.
