Coal
Combined Queensland coal exports from Gladstone, Dalrymple Bay, Hay Point and Abbot Point posted an annual fall for a third consecutive month in May, declining by 1.4 Mt to 17.3 Mt, port authority data show. However, shipments gained from a 14-month low of 16.4 Mt in April.
Exports from Dalrymple Bay led the fall, dropping by 1.1 Mt year-on-year to 4.4 Mt last month, while those from Gladstone were down by 0.4 Mt to 5.6 Mt. Hay Point shipped 4.7 Mt in May (-0.1 Mt), although this was offset by a slight rise in loadings from Abbot Point (+0.1 Mt to 2.6 Mt).
