Colombian Coal Exports Grow in January

Exports of Colombian steam coal gained by 0.7 Mt year-on-year to 5.8 Mt in January, data collected by IHS show. Loadings were supported by rising exports to Asia (+0.9 Mt year-on-year to 1.1 Mt in January), while shipments to Europe tumbled (-1.1 Mt to 2.3 Mt).

Colombia exported 0.6 Mt of steam coal to India and 0.2 Mt to China in January, climbing from no volumes to these destinations in the same month of 2019. Meanwhile, shipments to Turkey and the Netherlands fell to 1.4 Mt and 0.2 Mt in January, respectively.
