Indian Iron Ore Exports Extend Rise

Indian iron ore exports more than doubled on the year to 3.9 Mt in January from 1.6 Mt in the same month in 2019, according to provisional data from the commerce ministry. Shipments to China surged to 3.7 Mt in January from just under 1 Mt in the first month of 2019.

The country’s iron ore exports also doubled to 3.3 Mt in December 2019, with 2019’s total exports up to 31.2 Mt (+12.9 Mt year-on-year).
