Local Government Orders Argentine Port Suspension

Timbues will suspend port activities in a bid to contain the coronavirus outbreak, Reuters reports. A local government order stated that industrial and port activities would be suspended from 19 March to 2 April.

However, port activity was still ongoing yesterday, making it unclear when the order will be implemented. Timbues is one of three major port towns in Rosario that together handle nearly 80% of Argentina’s primary agricultural exports.
