US Coal Shipments Extend Fall

US coal exports (excluding Canada) tumbled to 5.6 Mt in January (-2.8 Mt year-on-year), according to the National Mining Association. US shipments have registered annual declines each month since February 2019.
Steam coal exports fell by 1.9 Mt on the year to 2.2 Mt in January, while coking coal shipments declined by 0.9 Mt to 3.4 Mt.
