US Steel Imports Fall to 10-year Low in February

US steel imports declined to 1.4 Mt in February (-0.8 Mt year-on-year), the lowest since December 2009, provisional Census Bureau data show. Last month’s imports extended a trend of annual falls for a seventh month in a row.
Steel imports from Brazil tumbled by 0.4 Mt to below 0.1 Mt, while shipments from Europe and South Korea dropped to 0.2 Mt and 0.1 Mt, respectively.
