Chinese Crude Steel Production Edges Higher

Crude steel output in China rose by 0.2% year-on-year to just over 85.0 Mt in April, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). Production in January-April grew to 319.5 Mt (+1.3% on the year).
Moreover, signalling further recovery from coronavirus-related lockdown measures, the country’s industrial production rose by 3.9% year-on-year in April from -1.1% in March, NBS data show.
