Indian Coal-Fired Power Generation Drops in April

Amid India’s coronavirus-related lockdown, the country’s coal-fired power generation slumped by 31.7% year-on-year to just 59.8 TWh in April, according to preliminary data from the Central Electricity Authority. Output dropped by 20.8% from March.
Coal-based power generation posted annual declines in March-April, after edging up by an average 5.4% in the first two-months of 2020.
