Indian oil product consumption falls to 2.56M b/d in April

Indian oil product consumption continued to drop in April, declining by 1.72M b/d m-o-m to 2.56M b/d, the lowest level since August 2007, according to data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell. Gasoline consumption plummeted by 345K b/d m-o-m (or 56%) to 268K b/d, with consumption of diesel also declining by 629K b/d m-o-m to 789K b/d.
India has been under lockdown since 25 March, with its third extension announced to be in place until 17 May.
