Indonesian Coal and Bauxite Exports in March

Total coal exports from Indonesia declined by 2.1 Mt year-on-year to just under 40.0 Mt in March, according to data from Bank Indonesia. Despite March’s shipments rising to a five-month high, 1q20 exports fell by 1.1 Mt on the year to 115.2 Mt.

Meanwhile, the country’s bauxite exports increased to nearly 2.0 Mt in March (+0.9 Mt year-on-year), the highest since January 2014. Shipments in the 1q20 were up by 1.2 Mt to 4.9 Mt.
