Chinese Corn and Wheat Imports Surge
Chinese corn imports climbed to 1.1 Mt in October from less than 0.1 Mt in the same month of 2019, customs data show. With increased animal feed demand and constrained domestic production, the country’s receipts nearly doubled to 7.8 Mt in the first ten-months of 2020.
Similarly, Chinese wheat arrivals grew 0.4 Mt to 0.6 Mt in October, with year to date imports jumping 4.4 Mt to 6.6 Mt.
