HRB Prices Continue Higher

The Chinese hot-rolled band (HRB) price jumped $20/t in the two weeks to 23 November to a more than two year high of $523/t, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics.

The Western European HRB price rose $20/t to $635/t, also reaching a peak not seen since late September 2018. Similarly, the US HRB price climbed $33/t to $789/t, the highest since January 2019.
