Brazilian Iron Ore, Corn and Soya Exports in September

Brazilian iron ore exports surged to 37.9 Mt in September, rising 5.9 Mt year-on-year to the highest since December 2015, preliminary government data (MDIC) show. At 103.3 Mt, 3q20 loadings climbed above 75.6 Mt in the 2q20 and increased from 100.0 Mt in the 3q19.

The country’s corn shipments inched up 0.2 Mt on the year to 6.6 Mt, the highest since August 2019, provisional MDIC data indicate. Nonetheless, 3q20 exports declined 2.1 Mt to 17.3 Mt.

Meanwhile, Brazilian soyabean exports slipped 0.1 Mt to 4.5 Mt last month, although shipments in the 3q20 rose 4.0 Mt to 21.1 Mt. Soyameal exports (including other animal feed) gained to 1.6 Mt in September (+0.2 Mt).
