Chinese Crude Steel Production Climbs in September

Chinese crude steel production soared 10.9% year-on-year to 92.6 Mt in September, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This implies a daily rate of 3.09 Mt/day in September, a record monthly high. Output in the first nine months of the year increased 4.5% to 781.6 Mt.
Meanwhile, steel product inventories in major Chinese cities declined 0.8 Mt in the week to 16 October to 14.7 Mt, U-Metal data show.
