Colombian Coal Exports Fall in August

Colombian steam coal exports dropped by 3.2 Mt year-on-year to 4.3 Mt in August, according to data collected by IHS. However, shipments were still up from 3.8 Mt in July and a four month high. Exports to European and Mediterranean destinations declined by nearly 1.0 Mt on the year to 2.7 Mt in August, while those to Asia halved to 0.3 Mt. Loadings for the Americas tumbled 1.9 Mt to 1.3 Mt. Year-to-date exports totalled 40.0 Mt, down 9.1 Mt.
