Phillips 66 restarts Lake Charles refinery

Oil

Phillips 66 has now restarted operations at its 260K b/d Lake Charles refinery in Louisiana, after previously being forced to close on August 25 due to the threat posed by Hurricane Laura, Reuters report. The refinery was due to be brought back online early last week once repair work from Laura had been completed, however this was halted due to Hurricane Delta, which made landfall 30 miles south of Lake Charles on October 9. In its latest update, the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) also announced that around 440K b/d (or 24%) of US Gulf Coast offshore crude oil production remains shut-in as a result of Hurricane Delta, as well as 12% of natural gas output.
