Around 1.5M b/d (or 80%) of US Gulf of Mexico crude oil output has now been forced offline due to the increased threat posed by Hurricane Delta, which is set to make landfall in Louisiana on Friday as a major Category 3 hurricane, according to the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). According to the BSEE, personnel have been evacuated from 183 (or 28%) offshore platforms in the Gulf Coast. Operations have also been suspended at the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, the nation’s largest offshore oil export terminal, Reuters report.
