Brazilian Crude Steel Output Rises in August

Brazilian crude steel production grew by 6.5% year-on-year to 2.7 Mt in August, the second month in a row of annual rises, according to data from Instituto Aço Brasil. However, falls each month in the 1h20 brought January-August output down 11.6% to 19.8 Mt.
Meanwhile, the country’s steel exports decreased by 8.3% to 0.8 Mt last month. Year-to-date exports declined to 7.9 Mt (-8.6%).
