Steel inventories in major Chinese cities softened slightly in the week to 18 September to 15.7 Mt, ending two consecutive weeks of growth, according to U-Metal data. Stockpiles have fallen from a peak of nearly 26.0 Mt in March, although inventories remained above year-ago levels (11.4 Mt held on 20 September 2019).
