According to Oman’s oil minister Mohammed bin Hamed al-Rumhy, the commissioning of the 230K b/d Duqm crude oil refinery is now expected to take place earlier than previously anticipated, Argus reports. Construction began in June 2018 and is now more than 60% complete, with processing expected to start by late 2021 or early 2022, as opposed to the initially planned October 2022. The refinery is a joint venture between Oman’s state owned OQ and Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), and will use crude from both countries.
