South African coal exports rose for a second month in a row, up 0.4 Mt year-on-year to 6.1 Mt in August, customs data show. Shipments to key destination India gained 0.7 Mt to 3.4 Mt, a six month high.

The country’s iron ore loadings declined by 0.9 Mt to 5.2 Mt in August, while exports of manganese ore increased 0.7 Mt to just over 2.0 Mt.
