China’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) index hit 51.1 in April, down from 51.9 in March but up from 50.8 in April 2020 as industrial activity continued to expand for a 14^th consecutive month (a value above 50 indicates expansion), official data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed.
