Colombian March coal exports hit 5.3 Mt, down slightly from 5.4 Mt in the same month last year with volumes to Asia hitting the highest levels in 11 months, data from IHS showed.

Exports to Asian countries reached 1.3 Mt, exceeding 1.0 Mt for the first time since April last year when 1.6 Mt was exported.

For the 1q, exports reached 14.1 Mt, down from 18.9 Mt in the same quarter last year.
