Dakota Access denied pipeline rehearing appeal
Oil
A US Appeals Court has denied a request from Dakota Access LLC for a rehearing on the decision made by a US District Court last July to cancel the permit for the 570K b/d Dakota Access Oil Pipeline (DAPL), Reuters report. The DAPL is almost 1200 miles long and is the largest pipeline running out of the Bakken shale basin in North Dakota, allowing suppliers to transport crude through to an oil hub in Illinois. The District Court has ordered the US Army Corps of Engineers to conduct an environmental review which is due to be completed in March 2022 and will determine the future of the pipeline.
