Hot Rolled Band Prices Continue to Climb

At $1,026/t, the price of Western European hot rolled band (HRB) jumped $124/t in the three weeks to 14 April, the highest level since August 2008, the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics show. Meanwhile, the US HRB price achieved a new record-high of $1,455/t, up $38/t.

The price of Chinese HRB also increased, up $63/t to $721/t, just $1/t below the record-high achieved in June 2008.
