Repair works at Pemex’s 285K b/d Minatitlan refinery located in Veracruz along Mexico’s Gulf coast are expected to last for around 90 days following the outbreak of a fire on April 7 which forced operations at the site to be stopped, according to Argus. The refinery processed 80K b/d of crude oil during February, producing 40K b/d of gasoline and 27K b/d of diesel, and is one of three owned by Pemex with coking capacity that can manufacture higher-value distillates from fuel oil. While it is currently unclear as to exactly how long the repairs will take some production at the site could potentially restart as soon as April 30, according to a statement from Pemex.
