South African seaborne iron ore exports hit 5.6 Mt in March, up 1.1 Mt year-on-year and the highest monthly volume since December when 6.2 Mt was exported, official customs data showed.

China was the largest export destination, with 2.9 Mt registered.

In the 1q21, total South African seaborne iron ore exports reached 14.8 Mt, down 1.8 Mt year-on-year.
