US Coal Exports in February Jump

Total US coal exports (excluding cargoes to Canada) climbed 0.3 Mt year-on-year to an 18-month high of 6.5 Mt in February as both coking and steam coal shipments increased, data from the National Mining Association reveal. The rise featured a 0.5 Mt increase in coking coal shipments to China to 0.7 Mt and an all-time high for monthly steam coal cargoes to India of 1.6 Mt.
