Chinese Steam Coal Imports by Source

Indonesia remained the largest source of Chinese steam coal imports (including anthracite and lignite) in July, at 19.1 Mt, up by 8.5 Mt year-on-year, data from IHS showed.

After Indonesia, Russia was the next largest source with volumes reaching 5.3 Mt, up from 2.8 Mt a year earlier.

The Philippines was the third largest supplier to China, with total volumes reaching 0.7 Mt, a five-month low, but up by more than 0.1 Mt year-on-year.

Volumes from South Africa were registered at 0.5 Mt versus no recorded amount a year earlier.
