Global Steel Output in July

Global crude steel production climbed 3.3% year-on-year to 161.7 Mt in July, according to the World Steel Association.
Annual growth was slower than in previous months, partly because of an -8.4% year-on-year fall in production in China to 86.8 Mt.
However, at 8.0 Mt production in Japan was up 32.5% year-on-year, with output growing 37.9% in the US to reach 7.5 Mt.
Total global output in January-July reached 1,165.3 Mt, up 12.4% on the corresponding period in 2020.
