Russian June Coal Exports

Total seaborne coking and steam (including lignite and anthracite) exports from Russia reached 20.1 Mt in June, up 1.8 Mt year-on-year, data from IHS show.

For steam coal, China was the largest recipient with 6.4 Mt registered, a record high and up from 3.3 Mt a year earlier. Total steam coal exports reached 18.0 Mt versus 15.9 Mt a year earlier.

For coking coal, total exports came in at 2.1 Mt in June, down from 2.4 Mt a year ago.

China was also the largest recipient with 1.2 Mt registered, up from 0.8 Mt a year earlier, but falling short of the record 1.7 Mt exported to the country in March 2014.
