Queensland Coal Exports Edge Up in November

Combined coal throughput at the four major Queensland ports of Abbot Point, Dalrymple Bay, Gladstone and Hay Point climbed 0.3 Mt year-on-year in November to 16.0 Mt, marking a second successive month of annual growth, port authority data show. However, shipments were still 0.6 Mt below October.

Year-on-year increases in shipments from Dalrymple Bay (+0.4 Mt to 5.1 Mt) and Hay Point (+0.3 Mt to 3.0 Mt) were enough to offset a 0.5 Mt decline in loadings from Gladstone. However, overall exports in January-November were 0.9 Mt below the corresponding period last year at 182.2 Mt.
