Chinese Manufacturing PMI Falls in January

The official Chinese manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) dipped to 51.3 in January, down from 51.9 in December, data from the National Bureau of Statistics show. Despite this, monthly readings have remained above 50.0, which indicates expansion, for eleven successive months.

Meanwhile, the country’s steel sector PMI fell for a second consecutive month in January, down 1.5 points to 44.3.
