Indonesian Coal Exports Jump

Indonesian coal exports (including lignite) rose to a 14-month high of 40.6 Mt in December 2020, up by 3.4 Mt year-on-year, IHS reports. This growth was almost entirely due to a 7.3 Mt jump in shipments to China to a monthly record of 17.5 Mt. However, despite this strong close to the year, Indonesian coal exports to all destinations in 2020 were down by 51.6 Mt on the year before at 407.6 Mt.
