Japanese crude steel exports retreated by 0.4 Mt year-on-year in January to 2.5 Mt, data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation show. While exports to China were flat on the year at 0.4 Mt, shipments to South Korea (-0.1 Mt to 0.3 Mt) and the Middle East (-0.1 Mt to 0.3 Mt) declined.
