Port Hedland iron ore exports rose by 1.7 Mt year-on-year to 42.2 Mt in January, data from the Pilbara Ports Authority reveal. Shipments to China and Japan rose by 1.6 Mt and 0.4 Mt, to 35.6 Mt and 1.6 Mt, respectively. Meanwhile, exports to South Korea fell by 0.4 Mt to 3.8 Mt.
