Argentina Ends Corn Export Ban, Introduces Sales Cap

Grain

Argentina has removed a two-month suspension on corn exports that was announced in late December 2020 to control prices and ensure domestic food supplies. Instead, the country will temporarily cap export sales at 30,000 t/day, the Argentine agriculture ministry stated on 11 January as reported by Reuters.

Typically, January-February exports are below average monthly levels in the remainder of the year. The country exported 36.2 Mt of corn in the first 11 months of 2020, according to data from the International Grains Council.
