China Resumes Steel Scrap Imports

Following over two years of steel scrap import restrictions, the Chinese government has resumed steel scrap imports as of 1 January 2021, according to an announcement from the country’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Scrap imports will be subject to quality checks under the newly adopted “recycled iron-steel raw materials” standards.
