Coking coal exports from Canada in May reached 2.5 Mt (excluding volumes to the US), up from 2.2 Mt a year earlier, data from IHS showed.

China was the largest recipient of Canadian coking coal in May, with close to 1.0 Mt registered versus 0.4 Mt in the same month last year, as Australian coal continues to be absent from Chinese customs data.
