Japan Coking Coal Imports by Source

Japan imported 5.1 Mt of coking coal in June, up from 4.7 Mt in June last year, with imports from Australia reaching a 17-month high, official customs data showed.

Australian volumes totalled 3.1 Mt, the highest level since January 2020 and up from 1.9 Mt in the same month last year.

Elsewhere, imports from Russia reached a six-month high of 0.7 Mt despite falling 0.1 Mt year-on-year.
