US HRB Prices Continue Rise

The US Hot Rolled Band (HRB) steel price continued to rise to new highs in the two weeks to 14 July, according to the latest SteelBenchmarker from World Steel Dynamics.

The price for US HRB reached $1,938/t, up from $1,864/t on 30 June and $556/t on 15 July last year.

Meanwhile, the Western Europe HRB price fell $25/t in the two weeks to 14 July to, a still exceptionally high, $1,395/t. Finally, the Chinese HRB price rose $29/t to $730/t, up from $462/t at the corresponding point last year.
