Australian coal exports hit 29.7 Mt in April, down slightly from 29.9 Mt a year earlier, official export data showed.

A year-on-year rise in coking coal volumes offset a fall in steam coal exports, with coking coal exports totalling 14.5 Mt, up 0.9 Mt year-on-year, and steam coal exports reaching 15.2 Mt, down 1.1 Mt compared with last April.
