Australian iron ore exports reached 70.0 Mt (wet basis) in April, down from 73.7 Mt a year earlier, official export data showed.

Total exports since the start of the year now stand at 275.3 Mt, up from 271.1 in the January-April period last year owing to stronger exports in January and February.
