China exported 5.3 Mt of steel in May, up from 4.4 Mt in the same month last year but down from the multi-year high of 8.0 Mt exported in March, official export data showed.

Total steel exports since the start of the year now stand at 30.9 Mt, up from 25.0 Mt a year earlier.
