South Korean Coal Imports Fall

At 6.0 Mt, South Korean steam coal imports (including anthracite) in May were down 0.9 Mt year-on-year, according to data from IHS. Imports in the January-May period totalled 31.7 Mt, down from 34.1 Mt a year earlier.

Meanwhile, coking coal imports reached 1.4 Mt in May, down 0.6 Mt year-on-year with totals in the January-May period reaching 8.2 Mt, down from 9.1 Mt in the same five months last year.
