US April Coal Exports

The US exported 5.9 Mt of steam and coking coal to all destinations excluding Canada in April, up from 4.6 Mt in the same month last year, data released by the US National Mining Association showed.

Steam coal exports rose to 2.8 Mt, up from 1.8 Mt last April, led by higher shipments to India.

Lifted by increased cargoes to Europe, coking coal exports reached 3.1 Mt, up from 2.8 Mt in the same month last year.

Total coal exports from the US in January-April stand at 24.1 Mt, up 1.5 Mt year-on-year.
