US May Steel Imports

The US imported 2.3 Mt of steel in May, up 0.6 Mt year-on-year and the second highest monthly volume since July last year, after April’s 2.4 Mt, official data show. Imports from Russia hit a 26-month high of 0.2 Mt, while Brazil was the largest source with 0.3 Mt.

Imports in the January to May period now stand at 10.7 Mt, up from 10.0 Mt in the same period last year.
