At $681/t, the price of Chinese hot rolled band (HRB) jumped by $22/t in the week to 30 March, data from World Steel Dynamics reveal. The price now stands a massive $265/t above the corresponding point in 2020.

Meanwhile, the price of Chinese rebar rose to $620/t over the same period, up $198/t year-on-year.
