Chinese Trade Data in January-February

Chinese imports of iron ore in January-February climbed by 4.7 Mt year-on-year to 181.5 Mt, preliminary customs data show. 

Meanwhile, Chinese coal imports dropped by 26.9 Mt in the same period to 41.1 Mt. However, record coal imports in December mean that total shipments over the last three months (December 2020-February 2021) reached 80.2 Mt, compared to a year-ago level of 70.8 Mt.

Chinese soyabean imports were 0.1 Mt below the same period in 2020 at 13.4 Mt in January-February.
